- Job Duties : Research, design, and develop fintech software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Work on APIs that power our member facing products and iterate on our banking platform. Own projects from end-to-end by influencing architecture, implementing APIs and maintaining the ongoing health of the code. Design, develop, test, refactor and scale backend implementations of new and existing consumer product features. Work with the mobile team to design and build strong, resilient APIs that propel our mobile app. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand member struggles and come up with creative solutions. Proactively find opportunities for improving the reliability and scalability of our systems. Work across the engineering team to improve and uphold high technical standards. Develop software in a production environment at scale. Leverage expertise with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks. Work with transactional databases and caching systems. Utilize knowledge of architectural patterns of large, high-scale web applications. Produce maintainable and well-tested code. Some telecommuting is permitted.Minimum Requirements : Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.Some telecommuting is permitted.Special Requirements : Position requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills : Utilize knowledge of Ruby on Rails to develop backend of web service and use Rspec to implement unit test;Utilize knowledge of PostgresDB to store data relationally, and SQL for querying data;Utilize knowledge of GraphQL as a middle layer between frontend and backend code for batching the request and caching the response;Utilize knowledge of React Native and Javascript to develop frontend of web service;Utilize knowledge of Terraform for managing infrastructure;Utilize knowledge of Amazon Web Services for deploying, managing and hosting applications.
