Duties
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
- Fit and adjust eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with optometrists to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Process orders for eyewear, including managing laboratory tasks as needed.
- Handle retail sales transactions efficiently, utilizing retail math skills to ensure accuracy.
- Provide support in billing processes as required.
- Stay updated on the latest optical trends, technologies, and products to enhance patient experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Optician.
- Knowledge of optical terminology, products, and services is essential.
- Familiarity with laboratory processes related to eyewear production is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including senior care clients.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Compulink or Nextech is advantageous.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
