Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Furniture Assembler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling furniture products in-store for customers and ensuring each piece is carefully constructed to meet quality and safety standards. As a key part of our retail operations, you will help enhance the customer experience by providing excellent service and timely, accurate assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Furniture Assembly: Assemble a variety of furniture pieces (e.g., desks, chairs, bookcases, tables) based on customer specifications and product instructions.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with assembly-related questions and offer guidance on product use and care, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Quality Control: Inspect all assembled furniture for quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Ensure that the final product meets company standards for durability and safety.
- Time Management: Complete all assembly tasks in a timely manner to meet store deadlines and customer expectations, including coordinating with store staff for efficient product delivery and pickup.
- Inventory Management: Assist in the management of furniture assembly supplies, tools, and parts. Maintain an organized work area and notify management when stock is running low.
- Tool Usage: Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment as required.
- Product Knowledge: Stay up to date on the features and specifications of products sold in the store to accurately assemble and explain them to customers.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in furniture assembly, carpentry, or a similar field preferred. Training will be provided for those without prior experience.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical skills and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Problem-solving skills for handling assembly challenges.
- Good physical stamina for lifting and carrying heavy items.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist customers with inquiries and assembly concerns.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy furniture pieces (up to 50 pounds), stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a retail or assembly-related role.
