Position Overview
Sheridan Correctional Center is seeking to hire an Office Associate to serve as unit secretary for the Clinical Services Supervisor. The selected candidate will serve as receptionist, compose, maintain and process various documents of confidential and sensitive nature. This individual should be highly motivated and ready to assist in the successful operation of the Sheridan Clinical Services Department. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.
Essential Functions
- Serves as unit secretary for the Clinical Services Supervisor.
- Serves as receptionist for Clinical Services.
- Composes, maintains, and processes various documents which includes confidential and sensitive material.
- Serves as designated staff member for initial contact and dissemination of information to attorneys, individual in custody family members, court officials and state agencies.
- Assists other Clinical Services staff in the performance of duties and serves as back up to other Office Associates.
- Orders office supplies and equipment.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
- Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
