IHLS helps support 520 libraries in central and southern Illinois. Our mission is to support member libraries of all types in providing quality library services. IHLS facilitates access to shared resources, advocates for libraries, promotes innovation, and develops community partnerships.

  • Position: Accounts Receivable Coordinator
  • Location: Edwardsville, IL
  • Type: Full-time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
  • Pay: 19.47 – 24.34/hour

Summary:

We seek a highly organized and motivated Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our Finance team. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable, ensuring smooth financial operations and providing exceptional customer service to our member libraries. You will play a vital role in maintaining strong relationships with our members and contributing to our organization's overall success.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer File and Mail Management: Maintain accurate customer files and process incoming mail.
  • Cash Receipt and Deposit Processing: Apply daily cash receipts and process electronic deposits.
  • Grant Preparation and Support: Prepares grant applications and reporting, including OCLC-related matters.
  • Billing and Invoicing: Prepare and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Customer Support and Account Management: Respond to customer inquiries, resolve billing issues, and manage account setups.
  • Account Reconciliation and Data Accuracy: Reconcile accounts, ensure data accuracy, and generate aging reports.
  • Audit Support and Collections: Assist with audits and follow up on outstanding accounts.
Requirements:


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of general accounting experience, with accounts receivable experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience.
  • Experience with accounting software; Abila and Traverse preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle interruptions while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong data entry and verification skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures for recording and summarizing financial data.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain effective relationships, and demonstrate discretion.
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor with a willingness to work in a customer service-oriented organization.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional telecommuting opportunities.
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Prolonged sitting and computer use.

Benefits:

IHLS offers an extensive full-time benefits package to include paid time off, health insurance, dental, vision, Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) (must contribute 4.5% of earnings), employer-paid life insurance with the ability to add additional life insurance coverages.

This position is Work Remote eligible (2 days per week) for employees residing in Illinois. Working remotely is contingent upon the employee having a work remote agreement approved by their supervisor, adhering to the current guidelines defined in the work remote agreement and policy in the employee handbook.
