Essential Functions Statements
- Serve customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
- Contact new or existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Emphasize product features based on analysis of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
- Adjust content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factors.
- Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
- Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and result reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analysis.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules and merchandising techniques.
- Recommend changes in products, services and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participate in professional societies.
- Provide historical records by maintain records on area and customer sales.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Quote prices, credit terms or other bid specifications.
- Complete expense reports, sales reports or other paperwork.
- Obtain building blueprint or specifications for use by engineering departments in bid preparations.
- Coordinate customer returns and complete proper documentation on a timely basis.
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.
- Develop an effective and productive working relationship with sales team members and support personnel.
- Study documentation or other information for new scientific or technical products.
- Attend sales or trade meetings or read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trade, environmental regulations or industry developments.
- Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.
- Inform customers about issues related to responsible use and disposal of products, such as waste reduction or product or byproduct recycling or disposal.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of experience in sales required.
- 5 years of experience in the petroleum industry preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record required.
