Job Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, multi-state sales tax regulations, and experience with financial reporting and reconciliations. The candidate should hold at least an associate's degree in accounting. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with state and local tax regulations, and supporting the accounting team with general accounting functions. This is not an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns on a timely basis, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales tax liabilities across multiple states.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying discrepancies and assisting with resolution.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improving financial processes and internal controls.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other reports as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and adherence to company policies.
