Position Profile:
The position is responsible for the daily operations of directing the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and ongoing evaluation of the Fair Hills Community activity program. You will develop, plan and coordinate activities and programs that are varied, reflect the interests, values and beliefs of the residents and provide fun and life-enriching opportunities for residents that participate in this program.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Create the monthly calendar with input from staff and residents and ensure that it is equally balanced with cultural, intellectual, spiritual, social, physical and recreational opportunities.
- Provide activities directly and coordinate the provision of activities provided by other individuals, community groups and volunteers in accordance with State regulations and IPH standards, policies and procedures.
- Procure groups, organizations, and individuals to perform for or instruct the Residents as part of the Activity program.
- Lead the Volunteer Program meetings and provide administrative support to the group.
- Maintain activities program within budgetary limits
- Coordinate community outings and drive residents to events as needed
- Conduct and facilitate activities for residents requiring 1-1 interventions for behavioral monitoring and person centered care.
- Create a safe, loving, and homelike environment for Residents.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned.

With respect to resident rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for residents, reports all complaints made by residents and or families to supervisor, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property, or any other compliance items immediately.
May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which you were hired and be subject to call-back during emergency conditions.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information about residents, family, employees, and IPH residence.
Must enjoy working with the senior population.
Perform job duties in a manner that aligns with the IPH mission of providing a gracious senior living in a Christian surrounding.
Demonstrates good interpersonal teamwork and communication skills.
Education:
Bachelor degree preferred, minimum requirement of high school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 1 year experience working directly with the elderly or individuals with disabilities or IPH.
Experience planning, organizing and coordinating events.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, and the use of Internet resources.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
A valid driver’s license and a clean DMV record
Physical Demands:
Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs. and push / pull 40 lbs.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
Mental Demands:
Ability to understand vague to implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
Ability to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under time restraints.
Must handle novel and diverse work problems on a daily basis.
