DIGITAL & PRINT REPORTER for a community newspaper in the Midwest.
We are seeking a community-minded journalist in the rural Illinois / Indiana area conveniently located between Indianapolis and Chicago. Kankakee Valley Publishing is a family-owned, privately held multimedia company with publications in six states.
We seek an experienced, existing writer / reporter looking to prove their abilities. A journalism degree is desired but will consider others with appropriate work experience in newsroom applications.
You will cover everything from local government to ribbon cuttings, education, and sports. Qualified candidates should have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while being able to work autonomously in a team-driven setting.
We are searching for a candidate to become a part of the community, as well as build relationships and the brand. Proven experience with Macintosh, InDesign, Photoshop, and digital website platforms, as well as social media channels, is required. Excellence in photography is also a plus.
