- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for districtwide athletics, fine arts, before and after-school care, driver’s education, and extracurricular activities that align with the district’s mission and strategic plan.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all athletic programs, driver’s education, fine arts events, and activities, ensuring high-quality and engaging opportunities for all students.
- Serve as the administrative co-chair of the Appendix F committee and coordinate the development and management of the district’s Appendix F extracurricular programs, including club sponsorships, leadership roles, and stipends for activities.
- Chair the Athletic and Activities Council, ensuring cross-functional collaboration between schools and departments.
- Manage before and after-school care program partnerships, providing safe, enriching environments that support academic and social-emotional growth.
- Ensure all programs comply with state, national, and district policies and regulations, including IHSA, NFHS, ISBE, and IDOT regulations for athletics, driver’s ed, and child care programs.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols across all programs, including athletic injury prevention, emergency response plans, and student supervision standards. This includes, but is not limited to CPR, concussion protocol, and AED training.
- Monitor adherence to equity and inclusion mandates to ensure diverse and equitable student participation in all activities.
- Develop, oversee, and continuously budgets for athletics, fine arts, Appendix F programs, driver’s ed, and before and after-school care to ensure equitable resource allocation.
- Manage facility scheduling for preK-8 athletic events, performances, and after-school care programs, ensuring optimal use of district resources.
- Develop an age and obsolescence plan and facilitate the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies for all programs, ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Business Office and oversee department contracts and agreements to ensure proper adherence to the agreements.
- Develop strategies to increase student participation in athletics, fine arts, driver’s ed, and extracurricular activities, with a focus on underrepresented populations.
- Collaborate with district and school administrators to ensure programs foster leadership, teamwork, creativity, and character development.
- Support students’ academic and social-emotional well-being through the integration of extracurricular and fine arts programs with broader district initiatives.
- Serve as the District representative for all athletic and competitive activity code of conduct hearing appeals from the Building Level.
- Serve as the district liaison for community organizations and stakeholders involved in athletics, fine arts, driver’s ed, and child care programs (including the IHSA and Upstate 8).
- Collaborate with parent groups, booster clubs, and local organizations to support and enhance district programs.
- Promote student achievements in athletics, fine arts, and activities through district communication channels and public events.
- Foster the development of programs with feeder groups, park districts, YMCA, and middle schools.
- Collect and analyze participation, performance, and satisfaction data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor trends in athletics, fine arts, and child care to ensure district programs remain competitive and aligned with best practices.
- Prepare and present regular reports to district leadership and the school board on program status and achievements.
- Oversee the revision of the athletic and activity policy handbooks in accordance with state and Board of Education policies.

- Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate
- Professional Educator License with General Administrator or Principal Endorsement Required.
- Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.
- Ability to utilize resources to find solutions when problems or challenges arise
- Ability to lead adults around a common goal, having difficult and essential conversations when necessary
- Ability to work within the annual budget provided by the Board of Education.
- Ability to utilize appropriate technology, communicate effectively, make decisions, and collaborate with staff, students, parents and public.
- Three or more years successful teaching experience
- Experience as an Athletic Director of Assistant Athletic Director preferred
- Building administrator experience preferred
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- This is a 12-month position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
- The salary range for this position is $100,716.00 - $151,055.00. It is our typical practice to hire in between the minimum and midpoint ($125,885.50).
