- Implement individual or small group instruction under the direction and/or supervision of a
- Familiarize self with goals and objectives for students in the classroom
- Facilitate implementation of behavioral programs and procedures
- Document student behavior and learning as directed by the teacher
- Help in loading and unloading student buses during assigned work hours
- Escort students as directed by the classroom teacher
- Other duties as assigned within parameters outlined in collective bargaining agreement
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Para Educator, Substitute, or Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
- Minimum education requirement for a Para Educator License is completion of at least 60
- Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and busy environment.
- Good physical agility and quick response reflexes

POSITION GOAL(S):
To support the program in providing a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the needs of the children.
To support the classroom teacher in the program he/she has created for the students.
To adhere to published policies and procedures distributed by the district and school.

This is a temporary position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education. U-46 reserves the right to terminate the position by the third day of student attendance if a minimum number of students do not register or enroll.
