What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Parents as Teachers Home Visitor position at Illinois School District U-46?
- Plan and conduct weekly home visits according to the Parents as Teachers (PAT) model.
- Manage a caseload of up to 10 families that meet the grant and program eligibility criteria
- Assist in the planning and facilitation of monthly group connections to support our enrolled families and recruit new families.
- Connect families to community resources
- Conduct screenings on children up to 3 years of age
- Work cooperatively as a part of the Parents as Teachers team to plan, schedule and assist with program activities
- Perform data gathering tasks as required of the grant and PAT.
- Maintain and enter both paper and electronic data accurately and timely.
- Actively participate in recruitment activities within the district and community.
- Participate in required monthly meetings including but not limited to staff meetings, program meetings, reflective supervision and infant mental health consultation.
- Willing to complete 20 hours per fiscal year of professional development.
- Must have work flexibility to accommodate some evening and/or weekend visits/activities.
- 27.5-hour work week
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, child development, human services or social work preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Possess a positive, nonjudgmental, respectful attitude towards all families
- Prior experience supporting families preferred
- Must have Driver’s License and be able to drive to and from family homes as well as community events
- Navigating home environments including but not limited to stairs, parking.
- Must be able to get up and down from the floor with ease
- Must be able to carry up to 20lbs.
