- Display a thorough knowledge of early childhood development, preschool curriculum and authentic assessment practices for early learners.
- Provide direct services and instruction within assigned preschool classrooms as mandated by student IEP.
- Provide accommodations and modifications for caseload students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and staff to directly support students with IEPs in blended preschool classrooms.
- Serve as Case Manager of caseload students, updating and completing required paperwork and data collection.
- Attend School Service Team, IEP meetings, and problem solving team meetings when required.
- Participate in required district or state professional development activities as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual Spanish /English written and verbal required.
- Early childhood teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards (IELDS).
- Knowledge of Illinois English Language Proficiency Standards for ELL (English Language Development Standards).
- Knowledge of strategies to differentiate instruction and provide accommodations
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from accredited university.
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Early Childhood endorsement and an Early Childhood Special Education Approval OR Professional Educator License (PEL) with a PK-Age 22 or K-22 LBS1 endorsement and Early Childhood Special Education Approval required.
- Bilingual Special Education-Spanish Approval OR Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) with a Transitional Bilingual Educator (TBE) endorsement in Bilingual Ed Teacher-Spanish (ELS-TBE) required.
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.

POSITION GOAL(S):
The Bilingual Early Learners Teacher will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to plan for, provide and assess the instruction of preschool-age students with disabilities in both English and Spanish within the blended preschool classroom.
JOB DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
This is a temporary position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education. U-46 reserves the right to terminate the position by the third day of student attendance if a minimum number of students do not register or enroll.
Summer Extended School Year (ESY) staff will support one of these locations: Streamwood High School and Liberty Elementary School.
Two days of professional development are required for summer school. Those dates are May 28 and May 29. ESY begins on June 2 and ends July 2.
ESY occurs Monday through Thursday with no school on June 19, 2025 to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Staff must be available on all days during the summer school sessions.
ESY staff are expected to be at school 15 minutes prior to the school day and 15 minutes after the school day concludes.
Summer School Rate: $44.85 (with TRS)
