Overview:
Serves as a technical expert developing and maintaining functionality for batch applications in the z/OS Tivoli Workload Schedular (TWS) environment. Serves as technical support for production programs and utilities. Technical expert in defining Generation Data Groups (GDG’s). Technical expert in performing support functions by determining error types encountered in production programs. Will serve as technical expert in Serena ChangeMan ZMF.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of three years of college, with coursework in the computer science field OR 3.5 years of technical systems and/or programming experience as would be gained as an Information Systems Technician or any equivalent combination of education and experience and/or IT project management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for defining and maintaining applications in the Tivoli Workload Scheduler software and performs routine reviews of the scheduler error list and addresses error handling
- Extensive knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL), XML, REXX, TSO panel definitions, TSO/ISPF, and Command Lists (CLIST) to define application processes and promote ChangeMan packages to various logical partitions. Responsible for ChangeMan ZMF processes such as source preparation using JCL for compile, assembly, DB2 binds, audits, promotions, and product installation. Provides ChangeMan ZMF technical support to end users
- Creates, deletes, reinstates or corrects RACF user IDs for internal staff within the Secretary of State’s office, granting CICS privileges for internal and external users
- Serves as person on-call when programs complete with an abnormal termination and determines the level of support personnel required to fix the problem
- Technical expert in defining the number of archive copies to be kept, as requested by Systems and Programming, for recovery purposes in new or changed systems; this is done in the TWS environment.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned

- Requires ability to adhere to organizational standards for security, privacy, and ethics
- Requires extensive knowledge of the devices for capturing data for computers and the means available for receiving and transmitting data from remote locations to a computer.
- Requires extensive knowledge of the advantages and limitations of computer communication, and information retrieval systems as management information tools.
- Requires extensive knowledge of systems design and implementation, including the way programs are written, compiled, and tested, the methods of operating computers, and the way data is transcribed into a form suitable for reading by computer
- Requires extensive knowledge of the methods, procedures, and techniques of conducting feasibility studies for converting to computer applications
- Requires willingness to travel and possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license as required by individual positions within the class
