Illinois Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Center, located in Morton Grove, is currently seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Obtaining vital signs, assisting with obtaining urine HCG results, Accu-Checks, and assisting with all other clinical activities to prepare patients for admission or discharge as directed by a registered nurse.
- Assisting in transporting patients to family members’ vehicles upon discharge. Assisting with escorting patients and their family members throughout the facility as needed.
- Stocking all pre-op rooms and PACU bays with all medical supplies and linens. Monitoring supplies maintained on dock and keeping all supplies neat and organized. Maintaining supplies and nutrition items in PACU nutrition area.
- Assisting in preparing medical supply orders based on agreed upon par and reorder levels.
- Cleaning all carts for use in all clinical areas including pre-op, PACU, and OR Cleaning all pre-op rooms and PACU bays in between patients.
- Assisting with removal of trash and dirty laundry. Help to maintain a clean and organized environment in all clinical areas.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a direct patient care clinical environment as a patient care technician, medical assistant or certified nursing assistant. Previous experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred. Maintaining CNA or MA certification for the position, if applicable. Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
