In support of this vision, the Tollway is seeking someone with a curious nature and a desire to effect process improvements and efficiencies. This Sr. Business Process Analyst position reports to the General Manager of Contract Management and supports the Tollway Business Systems organization.
The Business Systems department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and improvement of electronic tolling roadside technologies and software applications. The department focuses on tolling innovation and business intelligence with the goals of improving customer experience, increasing revenue, and enhancing operating efficiencies. As such, our mission is to identify, analyze, and implement the best solutions for meeting our goals.
The Sr. Business Process Analyst requires highly analytical and detail-oriented experience to support decision-making and process improvement efforts. This position entails data analysis skills to assess business functions, document workflows, and identify inefficiencies. The Sr. Business Process Analyst will collaborate across teams to provide actionable insights, support business justifications for new programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This role offers the opportunity to optimize key business processes, work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment, and enhance overall organizational efficiency. This position also requires strategic thinking, data driven insight and process optimization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Business & Data Analysis:
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and inefficiencies in business processes.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to support business recommendations.
- Develop performance metrics and KPIs to track process improvements.
- Develop reports and dashboards to communicates insights effectively.
- Business Process Analysis & Improvement:
- Evaluate, document, and analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements.
- Work with stakeholders to define and refine business process workflows.
- Identify automation or system improvement opportunities to optimize workflows.
- Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and documentation for current and future state processes.
- Business Justifications & Strategic Support:
- Develop business justifications and proposals for new programs, initiatives, and system enhancements.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the impact of process changes or new initiatives.
- Assist in developing business cases with clear problem statements, objectives, workflow designs, and data-driven recommendations.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and leadership, to improve business processes.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather input and align teams on process improvements.
- Provides subject matter expertise on the various programs and processes supported by Business Systems.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or required.
Education (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Analytics, Marketing or related field of study.
Skills and Experience (Required)
3-5 years of business process analysis experience, including business case, business rule, and process flow development.
Minimally two years of data trend analysis, reporting, visualization tools, and/or similar experience in analytical skills.
Ability to evaluate and document business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements.
Ability to map workflows, create process diagrams, and document current and future states.
Proficiency in developing and tracking key performance indicators to monitor and measure process improvements.
Proficiency in creating reports and/or dashboards that effectively communicate insights.
Ability to build business cases and justifications for new programs, initiatives, and system enhancements.
Ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses and assess financial and operational impacts.
Capable of translating business needs and goals into functional and technical requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and presentations.
Able to take initiative and work independently.
Education (Preferred)
Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Business Analytics.
Skills and Experience (Preferred)
Experience with analytics and business intelligence (BI) platforms.
Experience in business analytics within the Tolling Industry.
