Job Summary
Student Counseling Services (SCS) offers a 10-month Externship/Advanced Therapy Practicum beginning August 1, 2025, and ending on May 31, 2026. Our focus is to provide a strong clinical experience for our externs that integrates the development of clinical competence and ethical practice with professional growth and development in a supportive environment. Externs will be exposed to a full range of clinical services, therapeutic perspectives, and interdisciplinary skills within a University Counseling Center. While clients we serve may request to engage in services via telehealth, externs will only provide telehealth services while working on-site.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$1,200 to $1,300 per month
Required Qualifications
1. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
2. Successful completion of at least one doctoral-level therapy practicum prior to the start date.
Work Hours
The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional evening hours as business needs dictate. Practicum students are expected to work 17–20 hours across 2-3 days per week.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
