Job Summary
The Heavy Driver performs the functions of receiving and delivering materials from the Central Receiving Warehouse to all areas of campus with a focus on ; customer service and quality assurance. Receiving is done utilizing an automated scanning system. Delivery is done utilizing a motor vehicle and a handheld scanner.

$25.88 per hour
Required Qualifications
2. Valid/current driver’s license as required by the State of Illinois for the type of motor vehicle(s) to be operated by the incumbent. Please note below.
3. Six (6) months of work experience as a route or commercial delivery driver or closely related experience to the given position.
4. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful results of the pre-employment physical.
- NOTE: Must acquire a Class C (non-CDL) Driver's License within first five (5) months of employment for this position.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
2. Ability to push/pull up to 150 lbs.
3. Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time.
4. Ability to bend, crouch, kneel and reach overhead.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
