Job Summary

The Department of Politics and Government offers majors in Political Science and in Legal Studies. We maintain 15-20 tenure/non-tenure track faculty members annually while serving roughly 400 majors and 120 minors. We offer classes in the following areas: American Government, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Theory, and Research Methodology. Legal Studies courses are geared to help students prepare for a paralegal career.

In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year, the Department maintains a pool of qualified persons interested in part-time, non-tenure track teaching positions. Applications are accepted continuously and reviewed as vacancies become available.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

With a non-terminal degree on a full-time contract, starting at $5000 per month commensurate with experience and qualifications. (Part-time contracts prorated to the amount of time contracted (FTE). With a terminal degree on a full-time contract, starting

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Political Science or a closely related field
2. State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Prior teaching experience
2. Masters degree in Social Science, preferably Political Science, Juris Doctor, or a closely related field.
