GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Associate Director of Experiential Learning and Cooperative Education will play a pivotal leadership role in the development and implementation of experiential learning and cooperative education programs. The Director of Experiential Learning and Cooperative Education will work with the Senior Director of Career Services and other stakeholders to build out and maintain the programs and processes that will be essential to the university’s Elevate promise to students. This includes being the strategic leader in the development and execution of Elevate-related activities and events at Illinois Tech and the strategic leader for cooperative education with the university’s academic departments.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 – $75,000 and is commensurate with experience.

The position will require a comfort with working with a variety of stakeholders – students, staff, faculty, academic leadership, external vendors / partners.
CUSTOMER SERVICE The position will be charged with developing relationships with external organization as partners for our experiential learning and cooperative education programs. Success will be determined by the overall number of partners recruited, as well as the retention of existing partnerships. Special Schedule Requirements Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Five-plus years experience at a higher education institution in a career services-related role supervising staff and providing strategic leadership is preferred. Experience working with planning large-scale events preferred.

- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;
The ability to run and review audits on processes
SUPERVISION & BUDGET AUTHORITY This position will manage 2-3 staff members, with more staff members being added to the Experiential Learning and Cooperative Education department over time. This position will also manage the budget for the Experiential Learning and Cooperative Education department.

Certifications and Licenses List any certifications or licenses that are either required or helpful in performing the job, designating whether required or preferred. None required. Certifications through organizations such as MWACE, NACE, CEIA, or NCDA will be viewed favorably. Key Responsibilities Key Responsibility Provide strategic leadership for the building and maintenance of relationships with experiential learning providers, including community groups, academic partners, virtual experience providers, and local and national companies. Percentage Of Time 40 Key Responsibility Create, implement, sponsor, support and initiate programs to enhance the development of Elevate and related activities. Percentage Of Time 20 Key Responsibility Develop processes and policies as it relates to approval, assessment, and evaluation of cooperative education experiences. Percentage Of Time 20 Key Responsibility Support Career Services team and partner departments (Student Life, Admissions, Advancement) in the running of events central to Career Services and that relate to the Elevate initiative.
