Description: Support Staff -- Accounting Clerk-Payables/Cashier, Full-Time
Reports To: Controller
Salary Range: Min. $16.65 per hour based on background and experience; excellent benefits package
Position Summary: This individual performs a variety of functions within the Accounting Department and Bursar's Office to assist in achieving stringent accounting controls and outstanding department accuracy. This position is integral for the department as it is responsible for performing all accounts payable functions for the College and the Foundation. This includes processing a large volume of bills for the College, bookstore, Foundation, vendor checks for payroll, and all student refunds. In addition, the Accounting Clerk-Payables/Cashier provides back-up to the Bursar's Office and performs various Cashier duties in order to assist during payment weeks as necessary.
Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Accounting/Business -OR- High School diploma/GED with two years of relevant experience; ability to handle large cash transactions; high level of cooperation and professionalism; experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; and ability to work some evening hours as assigned required. Accounts payable and accounts receivable experience and fund accounting experience preferred.
