What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Substitute Teacher - Head Start position at Illinois Valley Economic Development Corp.?
Illinois Valley Economic Development Corporation (IVEDC) is looking to hire a Full-Time Substitute Teacher for its Head Start Program.
Where You'll Work:
Work location will vary dependent on need. Will be based at the Gillespie administrative building. Will use company vehicle for traveling to centers.
Your Responsibilities:
Will substitute in Head Start Centers in the capacity of a site director, teacher, teacher aide, bus driver/monitor, or other position for which qualified and will fulfill all duties of the position assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Other degrees are acceptable if they include 21 hours in early childhood related classes.
- Knowledge and application of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood classrooms.
- Knowledge of the purposes and philosophies of the Head Start Performance Standards in working with young children and their families.
- Ability to relate positively to children and parents. Ability to work as a team member.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- Prefer individual with Class B driver’s license.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
This is a full time position during the normal school year (August to May). Would be eligible for unemployment during the two months off with no disruption in benefits.
