Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for an energetic Office Coordinator for the Environmental Services Program. The chosen candidate will conduct special projects, gather and analyze confidential statistics, and prepare reports. Key duties include editing training materials, confirming training dates, and reviewing data specific to the Agency. The role involves managing correspondence, coordinating visitor access, maintaining computer files, and assisting with budget data. Additionally, the secretary schedules appointments, makes travel arrangements, and organizes program activity files for easy access. Essential Functions

  • As an administrative secretary, conducts special projects and studies regarding a wide variety of information of the Environmental Services Program.
  • Edits all reports, letters, and memorandum.
  • Receives and directs visitors to source of specialized information.
  • Maintains itineraries for Program Director.
  • Maintains files of material regarding program activities.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience or two (2) years of independent business experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute.

Condition of Employment

  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
