Position Overview

The Department of Corrections Logan Correctional Center is looking for a detailed oriented person to serve as an Office Coordinator in our Records Office. This individual will assist in regulating, monitoring, and processing information and documents received from multiple locations, agencies, and external departments. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, task orientated, organized individual with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Essential Functions

  • Performs technical office support functions and technical work that is coordinative in nature.
  • Assists in regulating, monitoring, and processing information and documents regarding sentence calculations.
  • Serves as the institutional liaison with the Prisoner Review Board.
  • Keyboards routine memos regarding updated/revised procedures and processes for the record office.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to (2) years of secretarial/business college or completion of high school and (2) years of related office experience or two (2) years of independent business experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at (30) words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in office practices, procedures, and programs.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year experience in basic mathematics.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year experience using Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent computer software.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience performing technical office support functions and/or technical work that is coordinative in nature.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year experience in operating commonly used manual and automated office equipment.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of corrections experience.

Employment Conditions

  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
