Essential Functions
- Under direction of the Fiscal Supervisor, serves as the Agency's Telecommunications Coordinator
- Updates AUs and name changes to maintain correct billing information, in compliance with external auditors, utilizing the internet application of EMS11 system or successor systems
- Serves as coordinator for the annual inventory certification of cellular equipment
- Conducts offsite telecommunication feasibility studies to ensure the most cost- effective and efficient approach is implemented
- Represents the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs in meetings and consultations
- Serves as liaison to National Communications Systems through the U. S. Department of Homeland Security for the issuance of Government Emergency Telecommunications Service and Wireless Priority Service cards for critical/operational Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs employees
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualification
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration
- Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program
Specialized Skills
- Requires one (1) year of telecommunication customer service or technical experience in working with technical products and services
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of interpreting Information Technology and telecommunication products and services
- One (1) year of experience with purchasing telecommunication services and products
- One (1) year of experience submitting and coordinating telecommunication services requests
- One (1) year of experience working in SAP
- One (1) year of experience with telecommunication repair services and resolving problems
- One (1) year of experience estimating and budgeting for future equipment, supplies and services

- Requires ability to pass a background check
- Requires use of agency-supplied equipment (mobile phone, laptop, etc.)
- Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
- Requires appropriate, valid drivers license
- Overtime is a condition or employment, and you may be required to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime
