Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Report Specialist/Secretary. Under direction, this position will prepare complex reports which track youth in care and youth and families involved with DCFS and purchase of service (POS) agencies within the various programs in the Division of Clinical Practice. The position will maintain databases designed to serve as a management tool for organizing and utilizing key information regarding the needs of DCFS youth in care and youth and families served by DCFS and POS agencies. The position will also conduct special projects and studies utilizing various data and will serve as secretary. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s operations. Job Responsibilities
- Serves as Report Specialist/Secretary.
- Prepares and keyboards a variety of confidential correspondence to agency staff, clients, professionals, and community agencies outside the Department for purposes of information and clarification of DCFS rules and procedures, exercising judgment in conducting involved searches by accessing various sources of information.
- Serves as secretary
- Utilizing the ability to integrate applications and prepare comprehensive reports, data tables, charts, and graphs, develops weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc type reports for the Deputy Director or other Executive Staff.
- Provides general clerical support for the Deputy Director as assigned
- Serves as timekeeper
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two years of related office experience OR two years of independent business experience.
