The Illinois Power Agency is seeking a Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Data Analyst to assist with tracking and analyzing the growth of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the expanding clean energy economy of Illinois. Under the direction of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Data Analytics Manager, the DEI Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to the equity accountability provisions under the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act. Additionally, the DEI Data Analyst will monitor and study data on renewable energy project workforces collected by the Agency to inform the implementation of program practices, develop insights, and advance methodologies to apply to the Agency’s renewable energy programs. This role will support the DEI Data Analytics Manager to ensure that DEI metrics are effectively measured, analyzed, and communicated in alignment with the Agency’s goals and mandates.
This position will have a specialized focus on advancing access to the clean energy economy for communities and residents who have been excluded from economic opportunities within the clean energy sector. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about using data to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion with a human-centered approach.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Organization : Collaborate with Program Managers, third-party Program Administrators, and internal teams to gather, clean, and organize data on program participation, equity outcomes, and workforce metrics. Implement knowledge of program data, data flow, and process improvement.
- Data Analysis : Assist in analyzing equity-related data to identify trends and measure the effectiveness of Agency programs in reaching underserved communities. Use tools like Excel, Tableau, and SQL to manage and interpret large datasets.
- Reporting and Communication : Prepare reports, data visualizations, and presentations summarizing findings from DEI data. Communicate these insights to internal stakeholders and Agency leadership to support informed decision-making. Translate technical concepts into business language that can be easily understood by key stakeholders.
- Support Equity Studies : Assist in collecting and organizing data for equity assessments and racial disparity studies. Work with external consultants and the DEI Data Analytics Manager to ensure accurate and timely analysis.
- Monitor Internal DEI Metrics : Coordinate alignment of data and key performance indicators to measure the Agency's internal DEI progress. Track and analyze internal DEI metrics. Provide regular updates and progress reports.
- Equity Portal Support : Support the data management and analysis of the Energy Workforce Equity Portal. Assist in the ongoing expansion and optimization of the Equity Portal, working with IT, Communications, and other stakeholders to collect feedback and improve user experience.
- Collaborative Projects : Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate DEI data considerations into broader Agency initiatives and projects.
- Other Duties : Perform additional duties as assigned by the DEI Data Analytics Manager, Senior DEI Manager, and the Chief DEI Officer.
