Location : Maple Grove, MN
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical / electrical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, pumps, liquid fillers, packaging equipment, material handling equipment, bulk delivery equipment, and blending / mixing systems. This position will primarily focus on the utilities side of maintenance.
Five Key Accountabilities
- Perform scheduled facility and equipment maintenance
- Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication
- Responsible for facility and equipment safety along with ensuring a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Responds to maintenance calls / requests in a timely manner with minimal supervision Dismantles equipment / machines and makes proper repair. Verifies corrections before task or job is complete. Responds with personnel via two-way radio
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain records of completed scheduled maintenance on buildings and equipmentFollow preventative maintenance work instructions, orders and manufacturing instructionsCollaborate with other employees to help support, schedule and maintain buildings and equipmentAnalyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication
Follow diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specificationsMaintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and / or oiling to ensure optimal performance and efficiencyMaintain records of completed preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilitiesComplete size changeovers, make adjustments, and trouble shoot liquid fillers and packaging equipmentResponsible for facility and equipment safety along with ensuring a clean, organized and safe work environment
Wear protective equipment when neededFollow all company safety rules (e.g. Lock out Tag out and confined space)Follow all local and federal safety rules / regulations (e.g. MN OSHA and MPCA)Fabricate, repair, and install hangers and all types of piping including hot / cold water, steam, process and condensate, utilizing formulas for all phasesResponds to maintenance calls / requests in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Dismantles equipment / machines and makes proper repair. Verifies corrections before task or job is complete. Responds with personnel via two-way radio
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustmentsAnalyze mechanical and operational problems on production equipment, report findings, and take appropriate actionMaintain records of completed repair work on machineryTroubleshoot and program minor changes in Allen Bradley PLC (SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogixRecommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product

A two-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance positionPreferred experience with PLC programming & troubleshooting in Allen Bradley PLC (SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogixAbility to stand, reach, climb ladders, work at heights as neededMust be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematicsDemonstrated expertise in the CMMS environmentExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenExcellent troubleshooting experience including electrical, mechanical, pneumatics & PLC'sGood organizational, cross-functional and interpersonal skillsGood math and analytical skillsMust speak, read and write EnglishComputer skills including; MS Office, Outlook, etc.Must be willing to work overtime, off-shift, weekends, holidays if needed for business continuityMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsPhysical Requirements
