SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for technical application and products support/sales in the metal fabrication space. This position is partially responsible for limited third party inspection and verification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and process consulting services to new and existing customers.
- Evaluate or create quality assurance programs including weld surveillance, inspection, and verification for specific strategic accounts.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative working atmosphere.
- Maintain rapport and good working relationships with vendors.
- Keep up with new products, technology, and innovations.
- Provide market and competitor data to the Director of Sales & Marketing as requested.
- Create welding procedure documentation for specified accounts.
- Perform welder certification and testing for specified accounts.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to resolve technical issues.
- Conduct product demonstrations on high-end equipment and other new technologies in conjunction with the sales team and/or vendors.
- Provide product recommendations in support of customer needs.
- Support and augment District Sales Managers as required.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A bachelor's degree in welding technology or welding engineering is preferred.
- 7-10 years of welding inspection and verification.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
RELATED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with arc fusion welding processes such as GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, adn SMAW.
- Experience with welding codes, standards, and specifications.
- Ability to make technical presentations internally and externally.
- Proficient at automation, welding, plasma cutting, and laser welding and cutting process applications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Ability to generate reports and business correspondence, solve practical problems, and work through unique situations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including attention to detail.
- Perform problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
- Effective time management capabilities. Plan, organize, and prioritize work schedules and job responsibilities.
- Possess good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 and operate office equipment.
