Summary
The HR Generalist will be responsible for talent acquisition, training and development, performance and talent management, safety and employee relations. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, you will receive hands-on active training, mentorship and support. You will have responsibilities that are very important to the company and to our team, and you will receive mentorship and career support every step of the way.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Recruitment Cycle: 60%
- Lead recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions, especially for our brand new Marine Technical Center located in New Hudson, MI
- Partner with HR Director to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Execute employee lifecycle responsibilities, including onboarding and offboarding
HR Generalist: 30%
- Identify and recommend improvements to processes to ensure a positive and informative introductory experience.
- Assist with coordinating employee social and wellness activities.
- Assist with deploying policies and practices that ensure an engaging, inclusive, rewarding and safe workplace experience.
- Provide support for various human resource functions, including benefits administration, and payroll/timekeeping processes.
- Attend and participate in employee relations matters
- Manage/mentor student interns from time to time
- Performs other duties as assigned
General Administration: 10%
- Maintain accurate employee information in HRIS system online (Paycor)
- Maintain accurate personnel records
Nuts & Bolts
- This is a fully On-Site position
- Location: This role will have the opportunity to share time on a flexible basis between our Headquarters in Plymouth, MI and our brand new Marine Technical Center in New Hudson, MI – scheduled to open in mid-2025. (e.g. 2-3 days per week in either location)
- Schedule: M – F, 8:30 – 5:00pm
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of professional HR experience
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
- High energy and organized
- Able to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience dealing with the general public: demonstrated sensitivity; ability to listen and deal warmly and empathetically with a wide range of people.
- Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication.
- Strong command of the English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of Talent Acquisition experience
- 1 years of experience working with Engineering and Manufacturing employees
- An appreciation for motorsports and/or boats
- $60,000 - $75,000/year
Demonstrated Physical Abilities/Work Environment
Remain stationary for 60% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
