Bridge Foreman (Construction)
The Bridges Foreman plays a critical leadership role in the successful execution of bridge construction projects, ensuring all field work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on position responsible for managing daily job site operations, supervising crews and subcontractors, and ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture, enforcing company policies, and ensuring all team members follow best practices and wear proper protective gear.
Actively participate in bridge construction activities, including structural concrete work, forming, pouring, and finishing.
Organize and manage crews, ensuring the right team size and equipment are in place to maintain productivity and cost efficiency.
Plan ahead by participating in weekly project planning meetings, ordering materials in a timely manner to prevent delays.
Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and budgets, guiding the crew to ensure accuracy and quality throughout the build.
Maintain a clean, well-organized worksite by completing one task before beginning another and ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Submit accurate and timely documentation, including daily timesheets, diaries, and reports.
Manage the use of rental equipment and maintain oversight of company tools and vehicles.
Coordinate with other foremen, contractors, and team members to align work activities and address project needs.
Identify and address job-site safety risks, such as excavation hazards or fall protection concerns.
Communicate professionally with customers and stakeholders, ensuring expectations are met and concerns are addressed promptly.
Track and document any changes or additional work for proper review and follow-up.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman, specifically in bridge construction
Proven expertise in structural concrete work, including forming, pouring, and finishing
Experience leading crews of 4 or more in a fast-paced construction environment
Strong ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and construction schedules
Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear, effective direction
In-depth knowledge of job-site safety regulations and best practices
Strong organizational skills with proficiency in record-keeping and reporting
Valid driver’s license required
Flexibility to perform additional tasks as needed to support project success
