Job Title: Bridge Structures Superintendent
We are seeking a Bridge Structures Superintendent to actively participate in and coordinate construction and design-build projects for utilities underground work. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the field crew and subcontractors, ensuring the safe and timely completion of projects with the highest quality of workmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop the best means and methods for work activities, including safety action plans.
- Review contracts, project documentation, and plans to ensure compliance with the latest specifications during field construction.
- Plan day-to-day operations on assigned projects, ensuring the availability of necessary resources such as labor, tools, equipment, and materials for timely completion of work.
- Hold accountability for crew performance, aligning it with company goals, safety audits, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Initiate necessary follow-up actions, including training, orientation, and discipline, to improve crew performance.
- Conduct daily briefings with the crew to review production goals, provide performance feedback, address safety and scheduling concerns, identify hazards, and gather worker feedback.
- Lead by example in maintaining a dedication to safety, educating the crew on safe work practices, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all field personnel have access to and utilize proper safety equipment.
- Communicate with customers to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Coordinate work, goals, and other activities with contractors or subcontractors.
Requirements:
Experience/Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a pipe foreman and 5 years as a superintendent in civil utility construction.
- Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of underground utilities, including water, storm, and sewer systems.
- Proven experience in supervising crews of 10 or more employees.
- Ability to read and comprehend project-specific documents, including schedules, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively oversee the work of others and provide clear instructions to the crew.
- Thorough understanding of the occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with the work.
- Ability to understand and execute instructions accurately.
- Proficient in record-keeping, including preparation of production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and project file updates.
- Capable of performing administrative and project-based duties as assigned.
