Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:
- This is a full-time position, working collaboratively with the medical staff. As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), you will play a crucial role in managing the medical needs of skilled nursing facility residents. You will develop strong relationships with administrators and staff in your assigned building(s) and serve as the primary contact for emergencies and urgent care visits. We provide our APRNs with comprehensive training and resources to focus on patient care and treat complex medical conditions.
What to Expect in a Day:
You will provide primary, urgent, and preventative care to residents in the assigned skilled nursing facility, and potentially to residents in assisted living facilities.- You will verify admission orders and conduct initial assessments of residents. This includes physical examinations, medication reviews, and depression screenings.
- You will collaborate with the facility's medical director, attending physicians, and nursing staff to deliver the highest level of care to patients.
- You will communicate with and counsel family members on treatment options when there are significant changes in a patient's condition.
Nurse Practitioner Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky
- DEA License
- Nurse Practitioner national certification
- Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties
- COVID-19 vaccination required for all new hires, unless eligible for a remote, religious, or medical exemption
Nurse Practitioner Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in internal medicine, gerontology, or cardiology
- Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Detail-oriented
- Dependable and reliable
- Prior nursing experience in long-term care/skilled nursing facility is a plus
