About the Role:
About the Role:
- We are looking for a registered pharmacist licensed in the state of Kansas.
- You should have a PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- A minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience in a management/leadership role is required.

Working Hours and Compensation:
- This is a full-time position.
- The salary range is $127,000-$200,000, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- You will direct and coordinate the activities and functions of the hospital pharmacy, developing procedures that align with hospital policies and legal requirements.
- Analyze and review records to identify prescribing trends and excessive usage, reporting quarterly to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- Collaborate on the preparation of the pharmacy budget and necessary department reports for hospital administrators.
- Attend medical staff meetings to provide advice and information regarding drug applications and characteristics.
- Ensure safe, legal, and ethical practices through quality assurance techniques.
- Organize daily activities and staffing needs to ensure timely completion of assignments and attendance at required meetings.
- Cooperate with pharmacy staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and equipment for pharmaceutical care.
- Conduct routine rounds to check medication inventory and reconcile narcotic documentation.
- Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous responses to physician, nursing, and patient requests for patient care.
- Utilize CPOE for physician orders.
- Oversee medication refilling and maintain controlled substance security using Pyxis CII safe.
- Manage pharmaceutical and supplies ordering while maintaining proper inventory control.
- Assist in maintaining the 340B drug program.
- Review and revise department policies and procedures.
- Coordinate various clinical pharmacy services, including drug information requests, drug therapy monitoring, prevention of drug interactions, patient education, and responding to code blue situations.
- Stay current with and fulfill Kansas Board of Pharmacy License, DEA permit, and Medicare requirements for the department.
- Coordinate and manage drug recalls and the control of outdated medications.
Additional Information:
The facility is an acute care hospital with fewer than 50 beds and is a not-for-profit organization. The previous Director has transitioned to a larger facility. This role requires a hands-on approach.
There is a team of 6 full-time employees (including the Director) and one part-time (0.5) employee.
