What we're looking for:
- Must be a registered nurse licensed in the state of Kansas.
- Possess an associate degree of nursing (ADN) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;
Hours and compensation potential:
- Full-time positions available, working three nights a week, from 7pm to 7:30am. Every other weekend with rotating holidays.
- Salary range of $30 to $58 per hour, depending on years of experience. Additional compensation for those with a BSN degree. Shift differentials of $2.00 per hour for evenings, $2.50 per hour for nights, and $2.70 per hour for weekends.
- Full benefit package includes a sign-on/relocation bonus of either $5,000 for a 1-year commitment or $10,000 for a 2-year commitment, as well as $5,000 per year in tuition reimbursement.
- Providing general nursing care to patients in a hospital healthcare facility by performing various duties.
- Utilizing AIDET to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and other departments.
- Greeting visitors and accompanying them to their destination.
- Collaborating with the Charge Nurse to receive appropriate patient assignment, obtaining bedside report from the off-going RN or LPN, and obtaining a unit telephone.
- Updating and maintaining the patient's White Communication board.
- Conducting comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on all assigned patients and documenting them in the electronic chart in real-time.
- Monitoring patients throughout the shift, documenting any changes, notifying providers if necessary, and keeping the Charge Nurse or House Supervisor informed of any patient changes.
- Monitoring telemetry and keeping the SCU updated on patient changes, as well as monitoring lab results and test results.
- Performing Hourly Rounding, coordinating with assistive staff, documenting as required, and providing patient education.
- Administering prescribed medications using approved nursing techniques and Med/Verify.
- Administering treatments as directed by physicians and in accordance with nursing standards and policies.
- Educating patients and their families throughout the shift and documenting the education on the electronic flow chart.
