We are currently seeking a Senior Designer to join our team in Sugar Land, TX.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and coordinate Instrument & Control System Design for Oil & Gas Refineries and Chemical Plants.
- Work with 2D AutoCAD, Excel, and preferably MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access.
- Review and redline P&IDs, interlock schematics, and motor schematics.
- Develop wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, demo packages, and I/O loading documentation.
- Design Junction Boxes, Marshalling Panels, and DCS/PLC Cabinets with BOM.
- Create instrument installation details and generate material take-offs for estimates.
- Develop conduit and cable tray drawings, including support details and sizing calculations.
- Provide low-voltage electrical design (120 VAC & 24 VDC power for instruments, instrument power panels, grounding, and bonding per NEC standards).
- Conduct field surveys and assist with hot/cold cutovers.
- Ensure all work aligns with safety policies, industry codes, and client standards.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and clients.
Required:
- 5-10 years of experience in Instrument & Control System Design for Oil & Gas and Chemical industries.
- High proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation design, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Ability to work in field environments and participate in cutover planning/execution.
- Experience with fiber routing and general fiber optic knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
- Experience with MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access.
- Familiarity with NEC codes and general electrical design.
