The role
The primary duties of the SVP – Finance is day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling the accounting and finance- related administrative management activities of iM Global Partner’s US-Scope in coordination with Paris-based CFO and Finance Director, and international Finance and Accounting teams present in Europe (Paris and London) and the US (CA-based). This exempt role is full-time and primarily office based.
The US-Scope includes:
o The Registered Investment Advisor, iM Global Partner Fund Management, LLC dedicated to asset management,
o The Registered Investment Advisor, Litman Gregory Wealth Management, LLC dedicated to wealth management,
o The Broker Dealer, iM Global US Distributors.
Responsibilities
§ Manage processes for timely and accurate financial forecasting, budget consolidation, and reporting for iM Global Partner US-Scope, as part of the overall Group.
§ Work with the rest of the US and international Finance and Accounting teams to deliver accurate and timely:
o Monthly Accounting
o Administrative management
§ Proactively manage cash within the US-Scope with an understanding of operational and regulatory constraints
§ Organize and manage the annual financial audits for the US-Scope in collaboration with the US Finance Team, external accounting team and auditors.
§ Conduct review of actual against budget figures with business unit managers.
§ Maintain updated US-scope finance procedures.
§ Coordinate the tax filing for the US-scope with the firm’s external accountants.
§ Assist the CFO and Finance Director with financial risk management, ensuring systems for internal audit control and financial compliance are maintained and regularly reviewed.
§ Offer professional judgment to the CFO and Finance Director on the financial implications of business activities.
§ Develop and analyze metrics that showcase the company's performance.
§ Build strong, productive relationships with all stakeholders.
§ Travel within the US, and from time to time in Europe, to work collectively with internal team members and advisors.
§ Abide by internally established controls, leading by example and encouraging all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with the company values, policies, and standards.
§ If not already held, SVP - Finance will need to pass the following FINRA exams within the next 6 months joining the firm:
o Securities Industry Essentials® (SIE®) Exam
o Series 99 – Operations Professional license
Qualifications
Essential
§ 10 years’ experience working in the finance department of a corporate firm and/or audit, with specialization in financial services.
§ Degree in business administration with finance specialization or some other numerate discipline.
§ Hands-on experience in day-to-day financial and administrative management.
§ Solid accounting knowledge (unconsolidated, consolidated, US GAAP, and Tax accounting)
§ Knowledge and experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, and reporting
§ Corporate finance analysis skills
§ Good understanding of US corporate tax
§ Proven ability to present financial information clearly and concisely across a range of audiences.
§ Demonstrable expertise in developing and implementing financial best-practices.
§ Strong process and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
§ High level of attention to detail.
§ Excellent analytical skills.
§ Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment and take proactive action to identify and resolve problems and make the most of opportunities in the best interest of the company.
§ Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-orientated environment.
§ Proficient in Microsoft Office, and in particular, Excel.
§ Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and assertively with senior-level stakeholders.
Desirable
§ Understanding of the asset management industry and investment processes.
o FINRA Series 99 – Operations Professional licensed
o Experience in company valuation
o Knowledge of International Financial reporting Standard
Location
The role will be based in our El Segundo, CA office.
Alternatively, the role may be based in our Walnut Creek, CA office.
Reporting Lines
This role reports to the Deputy CEO – Chief Finance Officer (Paris)
Salary
Base Salary Range: $175,000 - $215,000. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills and experience.
