Join the dynamic team at the IMAG History and Science Center as a STEM Educator! We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill both full and part-time positions. As a STEM Educator, you will play a crucial role in delivering captivating hands-on programs within our center and at various outreach events.
Responsibilities:
- Engage audiences with live shows, interactive demonstrations, and educational programs both within the IMAG facility and at community outreach events.
- Contribute to the development of innovative science education programs and exhibits.
- Prepare materials for programs, demonstrations, and shows to ensure a seamless and impactful experience for participants.
In addition to these primary responsibilities, you will have the unique opportunity to assist in the care of live animal collections and aquatics tanks, participate in birthday parties and special events, organize inventory, and contribute to administrative tasks such as creating daily schedules for programs and field trips.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with a some post secondary credits in a STEM field or equivalent experience, with a preference for those with a background in science or education. Prior experience in teaching within formal or informal learning environments is highly valued. If you have experience working with animals and aquatics, that's a definite plus. We also welcome individuals with improv theater or public speaking experience, as well as those who thrive in a team-oriented and creative environment.
Positions are available ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility required for weekend and holiday shifts.
