ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Measure and cut vinyl material for fabricated faces.
- Cut to size and laminate vinyl or other material for sign faces.
- Apply vinyl and cut copy on various materials (requires good eye-hand coordination).
- Perform both wet and dry application vinyl laying techniques.
- Effectively use equipment for vinyl (rolls roller, laminator, plotter, and digital printer).
- Operate plotters using computer software.
- Open blueprints and job travelers on the computer.
- Identify products by making sure signs are labeled with the correct job number.
- Clock out operations as needed.
- Work as a team to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Assist other shop associates on process improvements and problem-solving.
- Participate in cross-functional work teams as assigned.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Maintain a safe working environment in the face department. Observe and assist in enforcement of safety rules and regulations.
- Inform supervisor of all accidents in the face department.

- Assist in maintaining and cleaning equipment, as well as emptying trash and recycle bins as needed.
- Assist other departments as needed.

TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer literacy
- Fluent in English
SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Ability to read a scale ruler.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Working knowledge of materials and methods used in sign fabrication preferred.
- Ability to move about to accomplish tasks, including twisting, turning, climbing up and down, and around on tables for large jobs.
- Ability to climb ladders and crawl on knees.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, as well as work independently.
- Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May involve some repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts.
- May include crawling on knees, climbing on ladders and tables.
- Due to the open environment of the shop, must be able to work in temperature conditions to include heat, humidity and cold.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time.
- The worker is subject to high levels of noise. Hearing protection is recommended and required for certain job functions.
