What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director position at Imagination Station?
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center's care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume duties of Center Director, Teachers and Facility Staff as needed during their absence.
- Assist in maintaining center operations, quality programming and staff guidance and development.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with Center guidelines and state and local requirements; implement improvements where needed.
- Maintain communication with families and community through appropriate outreach activities.
- Responsible for overseeing the completion of CACFP documents on a day-to-day basis.
- Provide prompt notification to parents regarding incident/accident/illness reports.
- Follow all the center policies and state regulations.
- Supports teachers in the classroom to maintain ratio.
- Support center profitability and enrollment growth.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- 3-5 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
- High Energy
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Valid Food Handlers Card
- A Negative One-Step TB test result
- Must meet all continued education requirements and NV childcare licensing requirements.
- Should be working towards obtaining a level 3.1 on the Nevada Registry Career Ladder.
- Must clear full background check.
Educational Requirements
- Must have or be enrolled in the CDA program or higher education.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to walk and/or run with expediency.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
