The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level network infrastructure with a strong focus on integrating cloud services, automating cloud operations, and managing firewall security. This role requires extensive experience in network engineering, cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), automation tools, and in-depth knowledge of Fortinet firewall solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for driving innovation through automation and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation:

• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available and scalable network infrastructure for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Implement best practices for network security, performance, and redundancy.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide timely resolution.
  
  

Cloud Services Management

• Lead the design and integration of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) into the company’s network architecture.
• Oversee cloud network connectivity, including VPCs, VPNs, peering, and hybrid cloud setups.
• Implement and manage cloud-native networking services such as load balancers, firewalls, and DNS.
  
  

Cloud Automation

• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Automate cloud deployments, configuration management, and monitoring tasks.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  
  

Firewall Management

• Configure, deploy, and manage Fortinet firewalls to ensure robust network security.
• Implement firewall rules, NAT policies, and VPN configurations in accordance with security best practices.
• Monitor and analyze firewall logs to detect and mitigate security threats.
• Perform regular updates, patches, and security assessments on Fortinet firewall systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues to maintain network security and uptime.
  
  

Security And Compliance

• Ensure the security of the network and cloud infrastructure, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of network and cloud environments.
• Implement and manage network access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  
  

Monitoring And Optimization

• Monitor network and cloud performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, latency, or connectivity issues.
• Optimize network and cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance.
• Utilize monitoring tools to maintain visibility into the health and performance of the network and cloud environments.
  
  

Documentation And Reporting

• Create and maintain detailed documentation for network and cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Provide regular reports on network performance, uptime, security incidents, and cloud utilization.
• Train and mentor junior network engineers and IT staff on cloud technologies, automation, and firewall management best practices.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong proficiency in network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Terraform, Ansible).
• In-depth knowledge of Fortinet firewall solutions, including FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
• Strong understanding of ClearPass, Aruba network devices, and Aruba Central.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud-native networking services.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Fortinet NSE, Aruba Certified Switching Expert, etc.) are highly desirable.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $120,000 to $138,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
