Role: Orthodontic Lab Technician

Responsibilities
- Follow clinical guidance provided by Orthodontist and Clinical Leaders to design and fabricate orthodontic appliances
- Create tooth alignment models by mixing powder and using plaster and wax
- Fabricate orthodontic custom trays and retainers, as well as provide adjustments from impression to insert
- Recognize and identify color shades for prosthetics / pontics (color-matching or shade-matching)
- Perform 3D printing tasks using related software
- Print, clean, and cure 3D models
- Test models and appliances for conformance to specifications and accuracy
- Operate, monitor, and maintain digital lab equipment
- Take initiative in the research, proposal, setup, and protocols, and training of new lab technologies and equipment
- Develop and improve lab production processes and protocols
- Documenting lessons learned, FAQs, trainings procedures, and opportunities for improvement
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to improve scanning capture, photo taking, and impressions
- Coordinate with Procurement Lead on all ordering, stocking, and management of clinical / laboratory supplies and inventory for the office
- Maintain proper organization and cleanliness of work space
- Work efficiently and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Adaptability and compliance to operating protocols and manufacturer’s specifications
- Follow Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), safety regulations, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines
- Other special projects or responsibilities as assigned
Requirements / Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1 year experience working in a lab or with dental or orthodontic prosthetics (required)
- Familiarity with dental lab equipment, materials, and instruments a plus
- Orthodontic / Dental industry experience is helpful, but not required
- Bilingual in Spanish or other language a plus, but not required
- Excellent manual and finger dexterity
- Creative with outstanding hand-eye coordination
- Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills
- Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education
- Proactive mindset, attention to detail, highly organized, and willingness to support the office team
- Support office, community, and sponsorship events outside of office
- Reliable form of transportation
- Participate in morning huddle, patient chart review, and routine office meetings
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and be a team player
