What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Mathematics Teacher - Certification Preferred position at Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch?
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching lessons on math topics, such as but not limited to basic math skills, pre-algebra/algebra, geometry, and more.
Essential Functions:
- Plan and deliver educational instruction using the most efficient and effective methodology for the students assigned.
- Conduct assessments that are research based and appropriate for the students assigned.
- Provide corrective feedback to students, and re-teach as necessary, to ensure that the students have mastered the objectives.
- Conduct research and read professional literature in the subject area of the assignment
- Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians, and other educators to assist the students.
- Implement the approved-course curriculum.
- Implement modifications in a student’s education plan as required.
- Consult with other school staff as necessary to complete the functions of the position.
- Complete written reports, and assigned administrative tasks related to these functions.
- Utilize preventive discipline methodology with assigned students.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Imagine Schools Six Measures of Excellence in the execution of duties.
- Model positive character virtues and habits. Assist students in developing positive moral and performance character attributes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/School Leader.
- Notify administrators immediately when there is evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, potential suicide or students appearing to be under the influence of any controlled substances.
- Purchase, inventory, store, and maintain supplies and equipment for the program.
- Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
- Utilize preventive discipline methodology with assigned students.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Imagine Schools Six Measures of Excellence in the execution of duties.
- Model positive character virtues and habits. Assist students in developing positive moral and performance character attributes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/School Leader.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field
-Certification in General Math or Math specific Subject Area
- Previous experience working with students
- Knowledge of curriculum development and educational best practices
- Ability to work with diverse student populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
