Position Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct services to students with communicative disorders including diagnostic and related supports. The SLP also collaborates with other school based staff and families to ensure appropriate services.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Employs assessment procedures, techniques, and standard tests necessary for accurate diagnosis and conveys information to staff and families.
  • Provides diagnostic, remedial, and consultative services for children with communicative disorders.
  • Participates as a member of the school-based eligibility team.
  • Develops an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) for identified students.
  • Formulates short and long term therapeutic goals to meet individual students’ needs.
  • Provides appropriate programs of therapy to meet students’ needs.
  • Guides students toward an awareness of their responsibility for modifying the behavior which characterizes their communicative disorder.
  • Maintains accurate and complete documentation of student services and reports student progress as required by law, policies, and procedures.
  • Records and analyzes responses related to improving communicative skills.
  • Plans and conducts appropriate staff trainings and attends staff meetings as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison with the school and families with children with communicative disorders.
  • Participates in training and learning opportunities, as appropriate and available.
  • Adheres to ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing Special Education programs.
  • Prepares various reports as designated by the Regional Director.
  • Performs such other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential (including Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally-accredited college or university) authorizing service as an Itinerant Speech Clinician or Speech and Language Pathologist OR California Speech-Language Pathology License.
  • Experience as a speech pathologist preferred.
  • Experience in K-8 education preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
  • Valid California Driver License.
  • Fingerprint criminal justice clearance.
  • Tuberculosis clearance.

Classification

This is a 10 month exempt position based on the school year and supports our two schools in Riverside County (Coachella and Hemet). The Speech Language Pathologist will work out of one of the two campuses and can expect travel to the other campus.

Compensation

Imagine Schools offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and California retirement contributions. This position currently includes a $5K signing bonus!

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
