Are you an experienced Mortgage Loan Underwriter seeking a direct hire opportunity where your expertise truly matters? Join our client’s dynamic team and play a critical role in re-underwriting previously closed mortgage loans, specifically commercial mortgages. You'll conduct in-depth due diligence on representation and warranty review assignments, ensuring borrower creditworthiness, strict compliance with underwriting and closing guidelines, and property acceptability as collateral. Role & Responsibility :

Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success

• Complete predetermined testing associated with Representation and Warranties
• Prepare written documentation regarding results on testing
• Strong knowledge of residential mortgage underwriting; including income, asset, credit, and property underwriting; (consisting of recalculating income / assets, DTI, etc.)
• Analyze complex self-employed tax returns and financial documents
• Analyze and evaluate collateral through appraisals and other applicable evaluation tools
• Review fraud detection results used in underwriting
• Review and understand the Preliminary and Final Title Policy
• Thorough review and understanding of the mortgage process flow from origination to closing
• Strong knowledge of CFPB TRID QM / ATR and TILA rules and requirements
• Experience with Compliance Ease and Compliance Analyzer
• Assist in UAT testing of internal processing system updates
• Assist in the review of new deal documents when requested
• Maintain familiarity with mortgage industry regulations updates and underwriting guidelines
• Potential support to the Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities operating advisor engagements.
