Imagine Staffing is recruiting for a Cost Accountant on behalf of our client headquartered in Lockport, NY. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and the potential for professional growth.
The Cost Accountant will play a key role in the Finance Department by ensuring the company maintains a clear understanding of its financial condition. This role focuses on advanced cost accounting analyses and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support the company’s operational and financial goals.

Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success
- Develop and maintain product standard costs during the budget process and throughout the year.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to maintain accurate inventory costing and counts, including implementing and maintaining a cycle count process with the Lockport Master Planner.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and generate associated reports.
- Conduct quarterly inventory reviews to prepare capitalization of variances entries and assess inventory for obsolescence.
- Partner with the Operations team to provide financial support, including fixed and variable cost analysis, capital expense support, understanding cost variances, and supporting S&OP and scheduling processes.
- Maintain fixed asset records, track capital spending, and report on completed projects.
- Reconcile assigned accounts accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close activities to ensure the Finance Department produces timely and accurate financial information.
- Support the Finance Department on ad hoc projects as needed.
