This Role Operates Administratively In The Following Departments
- Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Setting, defined as “medical, social, and supportive services for Iowans with functional, cognitive, and other physical or mental health needs” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Rather than institutionalizing individuals who have these physical and mental health needs, HCBS settings provide these individuals with the opportunity to live and receive services in a way honoring them and their abilities.
- Day Habilitation (DAY HAB) Setting, defined as services “that provide opportunities and support for community inclusion and build interest in and develop skills for active participation in recreation, volunteerism and integrated community employment” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Day Habilitation provides assistance with acquisition, retention, or improvement of socialization, community participation, and daily living skills.
- Supported Employment Day Habilitation (SE-HAB) Setting, defined as services “that enables the member to obtain and maintain individual employment” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Rather than assuming individuals with development or intellectual disabilities are not qualified to work, SE-HAB services provide these individuals with the opportunity to obtain and maintain meaningful employment that supports their life goals.

- Ensure programs meet standards, rules and regulations required by accrediting and governing bodies.
- Provides leadership to all staff in their assigned Region of Imagine the Possibilities
- Responsible for marketing of programs and services
- Responsible for scheduling and compliance for staff training and staff requirements
- Act as a resource for the individual program plans of individuals served.
- See that action taken by the committees, decisions made by staff members are in conformance.
- Communicates with stakeholders ensuring satisfaction with services and programs.
- Oversee programming functions for all individuals receiving services.
- Promote the cause and the resources of the organization for the benefit of the person receiving services.
- Attend or participate in any meetings of which this organization is a member or see that the organization is represented at those meetings as needed as directed by the
- Delegate staff members’ specific duties and responsibilities not specifically assigned to them in their job description.
- Follows all of Imagine the Possibilities policies and procedures.
- Arrange all in-house training and meetings.
- Coordinate and oversee staffing according to supervisory responsibilities based on regional needs. Which may include:
- Monitor current openings and oversee the hiring/interview process in the department.
- Ensure staffing patterns are in line with revenues received for services. Monitor overtime and implement measures for reducing overtime.
- Ensure effective orientation and hands-on training is provided for new staff. Ensure timely documentation of new staff training/orientation in the respective department.
- Ensure new hire orientation and ongoing training are completed within designated timeframes.
- Select competent and appropriate supervisory personnel as needed.
- Supervise personnel:
- Conduct regular meetings team.
- Offer consultation for all staff evaluations.
- Provide orientation and ongoing training to staff.
- Perform evaluations of direct reports within one month of their due date.
- Ensure relevant documentation of promotions, meetings, disciplines, etc.
- Provide hands on interaction with direct support staff and visually monitor all programs.
- Comply with all applicable policies, practices, and laws with the regulations provided by any governing bodies such as Department of Human Services, (DHS), Department of Inspections and Appeals, (DIA), Iowa Medicaid Enterprise, (IME), and Rules.
- Documentation Responsibilities:
- Review incident/accident reports and behavioral incident reports of persons served and document appropriate follow-up. Seeking out the root cause of incidents and provide follow-up to decrease the likelihood of recurrence.
- Review service documentation on an ongoing basis to ensure documentation requirements are satisfied.
- Ensure billable units are submitted in a timely manner and ensure that appropriate service documentation exists to support units billed. Ensure units provided do not exceed units approved.
- Serve as the contact in the referral/admission process for new referrals. Monitor waiting list for future openings.
- Be an active member of the management team.
- Provide reports as requested.
- Maintain all property and equipment and report deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Make records available for review by certifying bodies.
- On-call duties as required, where applicable.
- Thoroughly read, comprehend, and appropriately apply all policies and procedures established by the agency.
- Report issues of concern to supervisor. Offer ideas and suggestions for resolution of concerns. Use appropriate methods and channels of communication.
- Maintain flexibility to work alternate shifts, locations, weekends, and additional/less hours based on the needs of the agency.
- Ensure all Imagine the Possibilities, Inc. policies and procedures are followed, including the Compliance and Integrity Program and Safety.
- Complete training in a timely manner and/or as assigned.
- Other job duties as assigned.
