- Patient Preparation and Support:
- Assist in preparing patients for MRI procedures, including verifying patient identity, explaining the process, and ensuring comfort.
- Aid in positioning patients on the MRI table and ensuring their safety throughout the procedure.
- Provide patient monitoring during scans and offer reassurance and support as needed.
- Start I.V. catheters on patients requiring contrast administration.
- Equipment Maintenance and Preparation:
- Ensure the MRI suite is clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in setting up and calibrating MRI equipment as per the technologist's instructions.
- Perform routine checks and minor troubleshooting of MRI equipment; report issues to the MRI technologist or supervisor.
- Documentation:
- Accurately complete records related to patient care, equipment usage, and daily quality assurance.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal protocols.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with MRI Technologists, Radiologists, and other team members regarding patient status and procedural information.
- Participate in regular staff meetings to stay informed on departmental updates and share relevant information.
- Safety and Education:
- Adhere to safety protocols, including national MRI safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing education and training required for the role and assist in educating patients on MRI safety.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the radiology team.
Imaging Associates, a best-in-class outpatient imaging center in Alaska, is seeking an MRI Tech Aide. As an MRI Tech Aide, you will provide essential support to the MRI Technologists by performing technical and operational tasks involving the preparation and maintenance of MRI equipment and patient care. The MRI Tech Aide is responsible for assisting in the production of MRI images by ensuring the smooth operation of the MRI suite and patient comfort throughout the procedure. This position requires working closely with MRI Technologists, Radiologists, and patients, and demands a high level of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and patients. This role also requires adherence to Imaging Associates' service commitments to customers and fellow staff.
The candidate must be capable of displaying excellent customer service skills in every encounter. Candidate must have the ability to multi-task and work quickly with attention to detail.
**Sign on bonus of $5,000 gross shall be paid on first payroll after hire.**
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical or technical assistant program preferred.
- Experience: Current experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Must be ARRT registered within twelve (12) months of hire date. Current Certification in BLS.
- Other Qualifications: Ability to work effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and regulatory personnel. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
- Attendance: Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
- English Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
