Position Overview
Technical Support and Installation Specialist
We're looking for a Technical Support and Installation Specialist to join our team in St. Louis, MO! In this role, you'll split your time between traveling to customer sites for equipment installations and training, and providing remote technical support. You'll be key in building great relationships with customers, colleagues, manufacturers, and vendors, making sure everyone has a smooth and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Install large-format printers, related equipment, and software.
- Provide comprehensive training to customers on installed equipment.
- Travel to customer locations across the US to perform installations and support.
- Stay proficient with the latest technologies included in our product offerings.
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and chat.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to our products.
- Perform equipment demonstrations.
- Create sample prints to showcase product capabilities.
- Coordinate, set up, and staff trade shows.
- Schedule and manage customer installation dates and logistics.
- Develop media profiles for customer projects.
- Produce instructional "how-to" videos.
- Calibrate printers for optimal performance.
- Unbox, set up, and test new equipment before deployment.
- Efficiently manage and log activities in a detailed activity calendar.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on new technology and industry trends.
- Develop technical expertise in color management, RIP software, and print production workflows.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in a technical support role or similar position
- Experience installing wide-format printers
- Problem solver and constant learner
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- knowledge of RIP software
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license with current insurance coverage required.
- Must maintain a clean driving record throughout employment.
- Willingness to travel frequently, both by air and car, including overnight stays.
- Must meet eligibility requirements to rent a car and qualify for corporate auto insurance.
- Previous experience in installation or customer service is preferred.
