Summary of Position
The Senior Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain & Operations team, responsible for the accurate and comprehensive planning and procurement of materials for Imbibe’s Turnkey and Foodservice products. This role supports the execution of category strategies and collaborates with suppliers, co-manufacturers, customers, and internal teams to drive improvements and implement risk mitigation plans. The Senior Buyer is responsible for resolving supply chain issues and recommending alternative material sources. Acting as the subject matter expert for the Turnkey and Foodservice Team, this individual leverages industry expertise and resources to address procurement challenges, ensuring the successful execution of Imbibe’s projects.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead the procurement of raw materials for assigned product categories, ensuring timely, cost-effective sourcing to meet production deadlines.
- Monitor the receipt of inventory to ensure proper invoices are presented to accounting and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
- Manage inventory costs to ensure profitability goals are met and minimize raw material write-offs.
- Develop and implement an inventory management system to streamline raw material procurement, provide updates to stakeholders, and generate necessary reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, co-manufacturers, and other external partners to ensure optimal performance and collaboration.
- Communicate with external customers to provide regular updates on raw material inventory, availability, and any potential challenges, ensuring transparency and managing expectations.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure cost reductions while maintaining product quality and service levels.
- Implement and manage blanket orders, supplier agreements and stock arrangements to ensure steady supply of materials.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to optimize purchasing decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, R&D, and quality to ensure a seamless flow of materials, resolving any supply disruptions.
- Proactively communicate raw material challenges and supply chain concerns to cross-functional teams, ensuring timely resolution and alignment on action plans.
- Address at-risk raw materials emerging during product development and take action to minimize their effect on the product and launch.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliation to ensure ERP system inventory is accurate and in-line with Imbibe’s co-manufacturers.
- Support physical inventory count processes at co-manufacturer locations, as needed.
- Lead strategic procurement projects as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or any other relevant field.
- 4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, material planning, and procurement strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Strong presentations skills with the ability to present data in a comprehensive format to stakeholders and leadership with high attention to detail.
- Proven negotiation and cost reduction skills in previous roles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve supply chain issues quickly.
- Results oriented and takes ownership of goals and objectives.
- Strong analytical skills for short-term/long-term material planning.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and comfortable with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain in a stationary sitting position 75% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems is highly valuable.
- Experience with NAV Dynamics is a plus.
- Experience in the Food and Beverage industry is preferred.
- Previous working experience with PowerBI reporting is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Office setting
- Occasional travel, as required to co-manufacturer or warehouse locations to conduct physical inventory counts and meet with team members
Pay range: $80,000 - $105,000
The salary range listed represents the expected earnings for this role. The low end of the range reflects the starting salary for candidates with less experience or qualifications that meet the basic requirements for the position. The high end of the range reflects potential earnings for candidates with extensive experience, specialized skills, or qualifications above the standard requirements for the role
